  • Susquehanna & Juniata Avenue Sanitary Sewer Replacement

The sewer systems in this area of Enola are over 100 years old. The Township has replaced portions of the old Enola sewer system over the years. Due to recent replacement of water and gas pipes in the area, the Township approved a project to replace the sanitary sewers in Susquehanna & Juniata Avenues between Dauphin Street & Wyoming Avenue. Construction is to commence in early April and finish by the end of June. Final paving of these streets will follow the utility work.

  • New Property Maintenance Information

The Department of Housing & Community Development has some updates for residents regarding Property Maintenance.  As regulations pertain to Motor Vehicles on private property, the Department will only take enforcement action against inoperable vehicles; vehicles in a state of major disassembly, disrepair, the process of being stripped or dismantled and the painting of vehicles (unless in an approved spray booth).  This change in the enforcement of Township Ordinance 757-09/ International Property Maintenance Code 2006 §302.8 is the result of judicial proceedings elsewhere in the Commonwealth.

Recently, Housing & Community Development has received another tool to address the maintenance of properties which have been abandoned.  On February 15, 2017 the Board of Commissioners passed Ordinance 759-17 which provides for the registration of abandoned properties and grants the Township the ability to require the security & maintenance of those properties.  In the event that the properties are not registered, secured & maintained it provides the Township with the ability to take action and see that the properties are secured & maintained.

If you know of any properties which have been abandoned, please contact the Department of Housing & Community Development.
